Teacher first aid

This is how we help

Belgian Red Cross-Flanders finds it important that people can help (each other). Being able to offer help immediately often prevents worse. That is why we want to increase self-reliance in Flanders. Every year we therefore offer our first aid courses to thousands of interested people.

This is how you contribute to this

As a teacher, you teach people what to do in emergency situations. You know first aid like the best and know how to convey this to others. Your students will leave your course completely self-reliant!

Something for you?

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are willing to undergo extensive training.

"As a teacher first aid , I really get a lot of pleasure out of my volunteer work. I enjoy teaching.

I only really realize that I have taught people something valuable when I hear their stories. For example, one of my students had a café where someone had fainted. Thanks to my course, he was able to keep his cool and offer first aid .

Specifically, how do you do this?

As a teacher:

  • Know how to keep your first aid lessons as engaging and realistic as possible with ease.
  • Use the extensive didactic material from Belgian Red Cross-Flanders. Our accident simulators and real cases will help you.
  • School yourself regularly to become and remain a first aid expert.

What do you get in return?

  • As a teacher candidate, you will receive extensive training. We prepare you to stand in front of the classroom. All first aid topics from the First aid and Helper courses are repeated and expanded upon as needed.
  • You get a solid didactic basis from us. You will learn to prepare a lesson and already have plenty of practice in the practice of teaching.
  • You will learn to work with specific forms of work that are integral to a first aid class within Belgian Red Cross-Flanders .
  • Insurance during all activities you perform for Belgian Red Cross-Flanders.
  • A kiss from the teacher and a couch ahead! ;-)
