What are the different types of bequests?
Leaving something to a charity like the Red Cross can only be done by including a bequest in your will. This is very special. Because even when you are no longer around, you continue to help people in need.
Including a charity in your will is also fiscally advantageous. Since July 1, 2021, bequests to charity have been tax-free in the Flemish Region. In concrete terms, this means that when you leave something or donate something to our organization, we no longer have to pay tax on it. This means that everything you give to us can be used in full to help people in need.
Including a charity such as the Red Cross in your will can be done in several ways. In fact, there are different types of bequests, each with its benefits.

You leave the entire available portion of your estate to one or more individuals or organizations.

You leave a piece of the available share to one or more individuals or organizations. For example, just the movable property or a certain percentage of your estate.
