Belgian Red Cross-Flanders Calls on Flemish people to donate blood and plasma even during the vacation period

Even during the vacation months - a typical time when people donate less - people need blood and plasma on a daily basis. This is why Belgian Red Cross-Flanders is calling on Flemings to make an appointment now to donate plasma or blood. This can be done at one of our 14 donor centers (Aalst, Beringen, Bruges, Brussels, Edegem, Geel, Genk, Ghent, Kortrijk, Leuven, Mechelen, Roeselare, Sint Niklaas and Turnhout) but for blood donations it can also be done during mobile collections and, for the summer months, at special locations.

Special locations

Belgian Red Cross-Flanders organizes blood donations during the summer months at the following locations: Center Parcs De Haan, the Provinciehuis in Antwerp, at soccer clubs Zulte Waregem and KV Mechelen, at the Jan Breydel stadium in Bruges, at the recreational area Zilvermeer in Mol, the Havenhuis in Antwerp and at the Pier in Blankenberge.

The dates and places you can always donate can be found here. For the special locations, the dates are:

- Center Parcs De Haan: Friday, June 14

- Provinciehuis Antwerpen: Tuesday, June 25

- Zulte Waregem: Wednesday, July 3

- KV Mechelen: Tuesday, July 9

- Jan Breydel stadium: Friday, July 5

- Silver Lake: Friday, July 5, Monday, July 29 and Friday, August 30

- Port House: Monday, July 29

- Blankenberge Pier: Thursday, Aug. 8

Warm call

Be sure not to wait to make an appointment to donate now. Both regular and new donors are especially welcome at one of our donor centers or during a mobile collection. Would you also like to do your part by donating blood, but especially plasma: go to Give blood, plasma or platelets, check the location and time that suits you best and make an appointment. Or make an appointment by calling the toll-free number 0800 777 00.

Those who are new are best to do the Donor Self Test first: Donor Self Test

Those who want to read a little more about giving blood or plasma first, go to: Giving blood: how, where and can I?
