Bridge volunteer supports children with school work

This is how we help

Not all children can keep up smoothly in class or can count on help with their schoolwork at home. They need extra personal attention. Someone who builds a bridge between school and home for them. With our bridging the gap project we offer these children extra support. Our volunteers provide additional support at home or in the classroom.

This is how you contribute to this

As a bridge volunteer, you offer support to vulnerable children in kindergarten or elementary school. Homework help, classroom support, language stimulation ... this extensive range of tasks does not scare you away. More than that: it is motivating! Of course, you are not alone. Together with a professional force from the school you look for the best approach for each child.

"We see that our guidance can boost the self-esteem of a lot of children. If you can help them prepare a speech, for example, you see them open up completely. Do they get good marks afterwards? Then they are rightly very proud of themselves. That's where you get your own satisfaction."

Christine, bridge volunteer.
