Plasma Awareness Week

From October 7 to 11, it's Plasma Awareness Week - a week when we pay extra attention to the vital role of plasma donations in our society. This year we have a special goal in mind: on Wednesday, October 9, we want to reach the record of 1000 plasma donations in one day! Will you come and help us achieve this?

I am coming to donate plasma

Your plasma can really make a world of difference!

Lucy (9) and Mila (11) both have PID, short for Primary Immune Deficiency. Most children with PID are unable to make enough antibodies on their own, which compromises their immune system. The result is persistent infections of the respiratory tract, intestines or skin, for example. Thus, they become sicker more often than others.

Antibodies, also called immunoglobulins, are proteins produced by your immune system in response to the presence of foreign substances, such as bacteria or viruses. They play a crucial role in protecting the body from pathogens. Plasma contains antibodies. This is why plasma donations are vital for people with immune disorders.
