Our guardians
Our team of professional guardians supervises unaccompanied minors. This assignment is a full-time job. To ensure impartiality, they are also only guardians of minors who do not reside in our shelters.
Trust relationship
Through regular contacts, the guardian builds a relationship of trust with the young person. He gets to know the young person's point of view on issues that concern him/her personally. A guardian also explains the decisions made by the various authorities.
Legal representative
A guardian is the legal representative of the unaccompanied minor. He represents the minor in all legal acts and proceedings, including in the context of the residence status. A guardian also manages any income of the young person.
Care and assistance
A guardian ensures that the minor can receive education and appropriate psychosocial assistance and medical care. He also ensures that the minor receives appropriate care. All this while respecting the minor's political, philosophical and religious beliefs. A guardian also helps track down the minor's family members. He tries to find a lasting solution in the best interest of the minor.
