Frequently Asked Questions
What type of course can I find on Eduko?
Classroom course: a course organised physically, at a specific place and time (date and hour). The specific teaching moment is called a performance.
E-learning: an online course that you can start immediately after registration. So you take this course digitally, whenever and wherever you want. You can pause the course, start it again and even watch it an unlimited number of times.
Performance: a class time when you can take a particular course, at a particular place. Note: a performance may consist of several meetings, for example spread over two afternoons.
Program: a collection of courses, consisting of multiple performances or course types (classroom, e-learning ...). For example, a program may consist of a preparatory e-learning, a classroom session and an exam.
Open course: a course found through the Eduko search page. For some courses you can only register if you meet the registration requirements, e.g. that you have first taken another course.
Closed course: a course that you cannot find through 'I'm looking for a course' because it is organised at the request of and within an organisation, for example a sports club. You need a code to register. You can find the course via 'I have a course code'.
What options do I have within Eduko?
As a teacher and simulator, you can find the following information or perform tasks in Eduko:
- Access to the platform to register yourself for courses as a participant
- Overview of courses to be taught
- History of courses already given
- Participants for your courses to be given
- Retrieve specific information about a course
- Attendance lists
- Adding and reviewing home tasks
What are my tasks in Eduko?
In Eduko, an instructor is given an important task in course administration. Here it is important to adjust the course status for each participant after the course. A course status can be completed, failed, absent, disenrolled with valid reason or disenrolled without valid reason.
Do this immediately after the course. If you do not update the status in time you will receive an automatic reminder.
What is employment?
A service position is an additional role you take on at a particular place in the organisation.
For example, in addition to being a volunteer participant (employment = student), you are also:
- teacher (tenure = lecturer),
- training planner (employment = course planner or course administrator),
- or chairman (tenure = president).
In Eduko, a user with one or more employments will see an icon with two silhouettes in the upper right corner. By clicking on this, you can switch between the different employments. Do you have a combination of multiple roles? Then make sure you choose the correct employment before you perform an action on Eduko. Depending on the chosen employment, you will see different functions in the platform.
What can I find under "reports"?
Reports are divided into three different groups:
- Study reports: reports on the course, for example, number of participants, courses to be taught, and others.
- Report wizard: this is where reports created specifically for your role are housed.
- Saved Reports: when you create reports, you can save them in Eduko. You can then find them later in this group.
Reports may not be available under some groups.
I am sick, what should I do?
Are you sick and unable to attend the course as an instructor or simulant? Please contact your department's training planner as soon as possible.
If possible, the course planner will schedule another instructor or simulant. If this is not possible, you will discuss whether to cancel or reschedule the course. Participants will automatically receive an email if the course is cancelled in Eduko.
Are corporate training courses also reflected in Eduko?
No, corporate training is not tracked in Eduko but on the corporate training booking platform. Would you like to organize a corporate training within your Red Cross department? Then fill in this form as soon as it is clear which corporate training you will organise. Do this well in advance! The administrative team of Bedrijfsopleidingen will then follow up the further organisation with your department.
