Find out who the new ambassador of Band-Aid 2024 is

After more than 60 years of selling stickers, Belgian Red Cross-Flanders took a different tack in 2023. Thousands of volunteers sold plasters for the first time. With success: nearly 400,000 plasters were sold, generating proceeds of about 4 million euros. With a new ambassador, Belgian Red Cross-Flanders hopes to do at least as well in 2024. None other than singer Camille Dhont - in the form of her popular cartoon character - will appear on the packaging of the plasters. 

"Our annual action remains very necessary for the operation of the 220 local chapters of Belgian Red Cross-Flanders. Due to restrictions during corona, the sticker actions at the time yielded less than hoped for, but then again our first patch action this year was a hit. We would like to repeat that success in 2024. We are therefore very happy to be able to collaborate with Camille. Her comics and other gadgets have already sold more than 150,000 items at Standaard Uitgeverij in recent years. Soon she will also have her own telenovela, and as the youngest artist ever, she will perform four times in the Sportpaleis. That shows how she knows how to enthuse young and old. - Philippe Vandekerckhove, CEO of Belgian Red Cross-Flanders.

Video message from Camille

Through a video message, Camille calls on all of Flanders to support next year's Band-Aid campaign and, consequently, the 13,000 volunteers at Belgian Red Cross-Flanders . 

"Also at my performances there are always a lot of people from Belgian Red Cross-Flanders around and that makes me feel immensely safe. So I am happy and honored to be able to support the Band-Aid campaign this year and thus give something back to Belgian Red Cross-Flanders." said Camille

Band-aid Action 2024

The Red Cross plasters will be on sale all over Flanders from Thursday, April 18 to Thursday, May 2, 2024. As always, Red Cross volunteers will sell them in the traditional places, from intersections over parking lots, to department stores and shopping centers. Purchases through selected local merchants and through the Belgian Red Cross-Flanders website will also remain as before. Like last year, the plasters will cost 10 euros.
