Provincial entity

The West Flanders Provincial Headquarters is home to more than 200 Red Cross volunteers who opted to choose the province as their headquarters.

In addition to the many volunteers with leadership roles (county chairman, region chairman, team member,...) or administrative assignments (region secretary, financial expert,...), there are also a number who opt for real field work in the various disciplines:

Social Intervention Service: Provide psychosocial care for victims and/or their families and relatives.

relief service: Together with the local Red Cross branches, they are responsible for preventive assistance in large-scale activities or mass demonstrations. They are also responsible for the operability of rapidly deployable resources within the framework of the Emergency and Intervention Plan.

International Cooperation: promotion of the International Cooperation.

Red Cross Youth: Assistance to departments in starting up new cores and guidance for existing cores.

PR and Recruitment: Presentation of the RC operation in the media and encouraging volunteer and fundraising initiatives.

Social Assistance: support in various social activities such as WOW vacations, bridge figures, library service for hospitals and care institutions, ...

Training: Organization and support of first aid training where first aid techniques, safety and self-reliance are explained to the population and organizations. Supervision of new teachers and simulants.
