The Transfusion Research Center (TReC) in Ghent conducts translational scientific research on blood in the context of transfusion.Scientific issues of blood preservation are studied using the most advanced experimental techniques. The resulting new insights are applied to implement innovative technologies that make transfusion medicine safer, cheaper and more effective.
