Change kit screening HLA antibodies - update

Luminex screening of HLA antibodies will be performed using the Lifecodes Lifescreen XP instead of Lifecodes Lifescreen Deluxe as of 22-Feb-2024. The XP kit is a new product from the same manufacturer (Immucor). This kit contains additional beads coated with HLA-DP antigens. This kit does not change the existing detection sensitivity and specificity of HLA antibodies but has the added benefit of now screening anti-HLA-DP antibodies as well. As of 06-Jun-2024, DP beads will be taken into account in reporting and detection of anti-HLA-DP antibodies will result in a positive Class II screening.
