10-Day of Mental Health
Each year from Oct. 1 through Oct. 10, the 10 Days of Mental Health continues. Belgian Red Cross-Flanders - even more than usual and in conjunction with numerous other organizations - highlights the importance of mental health and resilience.
Because, unfortunately, the numbers don't lie: more and more young people are struggling with anxiety and depression, and across generations, many people are dealing with burnout, grief or addiction... If someone close to you is struggling with something like this, you want to be there. Then you want to help. But how do you do that? How do you recognize the signs in time? And how do you avoid overstepping your boundaries yourself? Thanks to our Formation and Corporate Training service, you too can learn to help others. Individually or in a group, at home or at your company? We offer different possibilities.

First Aid for Difficult Feelings: FAMP for and by children
Especially for children between the ages of 8 and 10, this year we launched several packages that can be used by parents, educators and teachers to teach helping skills to second grade elementary school children. Because there is no age limit to wanting and being able to help others.
The focus is on seeking and offering support to peers, because talking to an adult is not always easy for a child. They learn how to invite each other to talk about how they are really doing, to be able to listen well to each other and together think about who they can turn to for more help but also to discuss more difficult feelings.

The Holdout app
This app comes up during various trainings but is available to everyone for free. It is a handy tool that you can use when someone close to you seems to be struggling or if you want to pay more attention to self-care yourself.
The app forms the third part of our package FAMP, alongside the Luister! manual and the training course FAMP. Where the book forms the basis and the training focuses mainly on daring to help and practicing, the free app Houvast offers action-oriented tips and very concrete knowledge that you can get started with right away.
