Red Cross Flanders is a volunteer organization that strives to make maximum use of volunteers in all its activities and at all levels.

Each province has its own governing bodies and responsibilities:

  • The provincial council meets almost monthly and consists of the provincial president, the regional presidents and the provincial manager. They conduct the daily management of the province and oversee the implementation of the Red Cross Flanders regulations and guidelines in the province. 
  • The provincial committee is responsible for the operational functioning of Red Cross Flanders at the provincial level. It forms a consultation platform for the provincial discipline managers with the members of the provincial council. The meeting is chaired by the provincial chairman and consists of the regional chairmen, the provincial discipline managers and the provincial manager.
  • The Regional Committee is a policy-making body within the provincial level. It is headed by the regional chairman and consists of the section chairmen of the local sections and the permanent representatives of the provincial disciplines to which the core tasks belong. The regional committees discuss matters of regional policy within the framework agreed upon at the provincial level.

A heart for youth work?

Are you an enthusiastic volunteer with a big heart for youth work? Do you want to help young people grow, support them and organize activities that really make a difference? Then this is your chance! 

JRK Flemish Brabant is looking for committed team members to strengthen our provincial team. Together we put Red Cross Youth on the map, support local youth work and make sure that children and young people learn first aid in a playful way and show solidarity in life.

What does the provincial team do? 

  • Supporting local youth ministries - we are ready for chapters and help them grow.
  • Organizing events - from formations to playful activities for children and youth.
  • Promotion and awareness - we make JRK visible inside and outside our province.
  • Training and mentoring - we encourage and support future youth leaders and teachers.
  • Collaboration and team spirit - we are building a strong network of volunteers who reinforce each other.
