Province Manager of Blood and Plasma Giving

Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position. Expenses incurred such as travel will however be reimbursed.

What will you do
As a county manager, you are the connecting link between departments, county and headquarters. At every level you show a sense of initiative and encourage the execution of the core task of giving Blood and Plasma. What does that mean specifically?

Why are County Supervisors Blood and Plasma Giving much needed?

• You are the provincial point of contact for all volunteers from your province who are committed to Blood Service.
• You encourage Red Cross branches around promotion of local blood collections
• You also encourage them around the necessary logistical support in organizing those blood collections
• You capture and compile concerns, questions and ideas from department chairs and departmental 'Blood and Plasma Giving' managers

A county manager must meet the following profile:

Personal qualities:

• come of age
• communicative competence
• socialize
• Possess leadership skills
• Have an interest in the Red Cross
• be willing to act according to the fundamental principles
• Be willing to take required training courses
• Be willing to work in groups
• Be willing to cooperate with all stakeholders in a loyal manner
• Be willing to do limited travel
• Be willing to attend evening meetings
• Have sufficient free time
• Be accessible in case of problems arising in the province

Education and experience:

• Demonstrated experience in a communications position inside or outside Belgian Red Cross-Flanders
• Understand and be able to drive communication flows
• communicate purposefully
• Be able to guide and motivate the departments within the province in terms of Blood and Plasma giving.

Specifically, this means that you have functional authority over the departmental Blood and Plasma giving officers within your province.

• You act at the behest and with the mandate of the provincial president who has hierarchical oversight of your position and to whom you are accountable.
• You are part of the Provincial Council and are represented in the upper echelons by the Provincial President.

Are you available to deploy flexibly, but also with some regularity, to various locations and activities in your province?
